Genshin Impact 3.0 Update: Dendro element, its reactions and more

The power of the forests reborn

With the release of the Sumeru map by HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact 3.0 update, players will experience the Dendro element in full scale. With an entire region focused on the Dendro element, we will discuss different discussions about Dendro.

Genshin Impact 3.0 Update: Dendro Overview

Dendro is one of the seven elements in the world of Genshin Impact. It harnesses the power of plant sources and causes various phenomena. The previous Dendro archon Greater Lord Rukkhadevata was killed in the cataclysm around 500 years ago. The current Dendro archon Lesser Lord Kusanali and her domain is Sumeru.

Dendro Elemental Resonance

Having two Dendro characters in the party creates Dendro Elemental Resonance in Genshin Impact.

  • Sprawling Greenery: In case you are using two Dendro element-based characters in your party, you will trigger an elemental resonance called “Sprawling Greenery”. This gives an Elemental Mastery boost of +50. Any elemental reactions triggered under its effect will give the party an additional Elemental Mastery bonus for a short period of time.

Dendro Elemental Reaction

Dendro element reacts with the following elements in Genshin Impact:

  1. Electro
  2. Pyro
  3. Hydro

Quicken Reaction (Dendro + Electro)

When Dendro attacks affected enemies come in contact with Electro attacks, “Aggravate” is activated and it does more damage. Further attacks on these enemies will trigger “Spread”, which in turn, increases further Dendro damage.

Burning Reaction (Dendro + Pyro)

Burning enemies take Pyro damage over time and when Dendro is added to the mix it, boosts the effect. It is a very good strategy to create passive damage while you heal or plan your next move.

Bloom Reaction (Dendro + Hydro)

Bloom” is triggered when Dendro attacks meet Hydro attacks. Bloom causes Dendro Cores to fall off the enemy onto the floor. If players hit these cores with Pyro-based attacks it triggers causes “Burgeon” which does AoE Dendro damage. If you hit them with Electro-based attacks it will trigger “Sprawling Shots” which are homing missiles that do major damage to the primary target and also does AoE Dendro damage to any nearby foe. In case these are not hit with Pyro or Electro attacks they will simply explode also doing  AoE Dendro damage.
