Genshin Impact Bennett guide for best build, artifacts, weapons, and more
Best pyro boy of Genshin Impact!
Mondstadt’s most unlucky boy Bennett is one of the best support/sub-DPS you can have in Genshin Impact, developed by HoYoverse. Even though Bennett has been in the game since release and has the same abilities, his playstyle has changed significantly with new characters and updates. Nonetheless, even to this day, he remains one of the best supports that can support almost any team in the game.
Bennett can support and heal your team to keep them alive, all while boosting their damage. And if you build him like a sub-DPS, he can also deal significant damage with your other DPS. And the best thing is, he can be found in the Paimon’s Bargain shop rotation! So you can pick him up for free if you don’t have him yet.
Genshin Impact Bennett’s talents
Bennett is a sword user of Pyro Element. He has some very good talents. And his constellations make them even better. So let us see these talents and how you can utilize them in combat.
Bennett Talents
Bennett’s elemental skill has a short cooldown allowing you to spam it if you want. It can be a great source of the pyro particle to fill the burst energy quickly. This skill also does respectable damage.
His elemental burst heals the active character up to 70% of the HP and gives an attack bonus to the character based on Bennett’s base attack. This ability is what makes him an S-tier character at all stages of the game. This attack bonus can significantly increase the damage of your whole party, and if he is running a sub-DPS build, it also deals a lot of damage to the enemy.
At C0, Bennett will heal the active character to 70% HP, and then he will provide this attack bonus once the healing is done. But at C1, this restriction gets removed. So, it is highly recommended you C1 him if possible. You can pick up a copy of Bennett from the Paimon’s Bargain shop, provided you have the currency for it.
Passive Talents
While Bennett’s passive talents are nothing worth losing our minds over, they are useful in some situations. His first passive talent decreases his elemental skill cooldown by 20%, and his second passive decreases the cooldown by 50% while inside his burst. They are good for spamming the ability to get more energy and keep the burst up at all times.
Genshin Impact Bennett Playstyle
Bennett can be played as a support or a sub-DPS. While the early and mid-game players tend to use him as more of a support, the late-game players tend to move into building him as a sub-DPS. Let us break down each of the playstyles in this section.
1. Support Playstyle
Bennett is a character that excels at many things. He can heal and buff the attacks of the teammates. And because of his low cooldown elemental skill, he can also be a pyro battery for other pyro main damage dealers.
Support playstyle focuses on the healing Bennett provides. His heal scales with how much HP you have on him. So, this build doesn’t care about Bennett’s damage. Using all HP and Energy Recharge artifacts on him is sufficient for this style.
Because of the low stat requirement, you can run him as a low-investment healer and make the most out of him. Of course, he will also provide the attack damage buff while healing the team.
2. Sub-DPS Playstyle
The sub-DPS playstyle of Bennett needs a lot more investment than the support counterpart. The main damage will be coming from his burst skill. So you will need to invest in getting some good artifacts that boost damage. But the investment becomes worth it when you see him dealing enough damage to carry some abyss run.
For this playstyle, you will need to build him as a damage dealer, with the exception of the Sand. Normally a damage dealer uses attack percentage Sand. But for Bennett, we need to use an energy recharge one, so we can use his burst as much as possible.
Even though we are not building specifically for healing, his healing is enough to make him the solo healer in the team, even in this playstyle. So you are not losing much, building him as a sub-DPS instead of pure support.
Constellations
Level | Bennett’s Constellations |
---|---|
C1 | Grand Expectation: Fantastic Voyage’s ATK increase no longer has an HP restriction, and gains an additional 20% of Bennett’s Base ATK. |
C2 | Impasse Conqueror: When Bennett’s HP falls below 70%, his Energy Recharge is increased by 30%. |
C3 | Unstoppable Fervor: Increases the Level of Passion Overload by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4 | Unexpected Odyssey: Using a Normal Attack when executing the second attack of Passion Overload’s Charge Level 1 allows an additional attack to be performed. This additional attack does 135% of the second attack’s DMG. |
C5 | True Explorer: Increases the Level of Fantastic Voyage by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6 | Fire Ventures with Me: Sword, Claymore, or Polearm-wielding characters inside Fantastic Voyage’s radius gain a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus and their weapons are infused with Pyro. |
Best Artifact sets for Bennett in Genshin Impact
As we have discussed before, Bennett has various playstyles. But fortunately, the artifact sets are more or less constant in different playstyles. Depending on how you want to use him, there are a few types of sets you can use.
4-Piece set: Noblesse Oblige
Noblesse Oblige is the best set for a sub-DPS or even a support Bennett. The 2-piece set increases the damage of your elemental burst while the 4-piece buffs your party members’ attack. This 4 piece set buffs stacks with Bennett’s own base attack buff. So, it can be a very powerful set to use on him.
SET | SET BONUS |
---|---|
Noblesse Oblige | 2-Piece: Elemental Burst DMG +20%. 4-Piece: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack. |
2-Piece Sets: Noblesse Oblige, Crimson Witch of Flames, Atk% Set
If you don’t have the 4-piece of Noblesses Oblige, you can use any of the attack percentages two-piece set paired with the Noblesse. Or you can even use two different two-piece attack percentage sets for a 36% attack damage bonus on him.
SET | SET BONUS |
---|---|
Echoes of An Offering, Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, Vermillion Hereafter, Gladiator’s Finale | 2-Piece: ATK +18% |
If you have a spare crimson witch 2-piece set, you can also use that on Bennett. Just pair the crimson witch set with another 2 pieces of Noblesse or any of the attack percentage sets that are in the game.
SET | SET BONUS |
---|---|
Crimson Witch of Flames | 2-Piece: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%. |
The broken 2-piece sets are mainly for a sub-DPS Bennett build. Another use of these 2-piece sets is if any other character of your team uses the Noblesse Oblige set. The Noblesse Oblige set doesn’t stack if two people on the same team use it. So you can change your Bennett to these sets keeping the Noblesse Oblige on another person.
Best weapons for Bennett in Genshin Impact
Bennett has a few weapons he can use. But while using a weapon on him, you should use the weapon with the highest base attack. That is because his burst buffs the other characters depending on the base attack. Having a higher base attack weapon will allow Bennett to buff the other characters in the party more. That being said, here are weapons that are good for him:
1. Skyward Balde
This weapon is a good balance of energy recharge and a high base attack for Bennett. And this is a standard banner weapon. So you are bound to get this sooner or later. Make sure to max out the weapon to get the maximum value out of it.
Type | Sword |
Base ATK | 46 |
Rarity | ★★★★★ |
Bonus Effect | Energy Recharge + 12.0% |
Skill | Sky-Piercing Fang ・CRIT Rate increased by 4%. Gains Skypiercing Might upon using an Elemental Burst: Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and increases the DMG of Normal and Charged Attack hits by 20% for 12s. |
2. The Alley Flash
The Alley Flash doesn’t have the energy recharge that you need on Bennett. However, its base attack is as high as a 5-star weapon. So nonetheless, it is still a good weapon to use on bennet.
Type | Sword |
Base ATK | 45 |
Rarity | ★★★★ |
Bonus Effect | Elemental Mastery + 12 |
Skill | Itinerant Hero ・Increases DMG dealt by the character equipping this weapon by 12%. Taking DMG dismantles the effect for 5s. |
3. Festering Desire
This is an event weapon. So if you don’t have it, chances are you will not be getting it for a long time. Even though this weapon has a lower base attack compared to the other two. For a sub-DPS Bennett, it is one of the best weapons to use. It increases your skill damage by a lot and provides you with energy recharge.
Type | Sword |

Bonus Effect | Energy Recharge + 10.0% |

Best Team Comps for Bennett in Genshin Impact
Bennett is a character who can be used in any team comp as a healer and attack buffer unless it is a team that doesn’t want to get healed like Hu Tao. So there is no point listing out all the characters that can use Bennett’s support.
But we will show you one particular team that is one of the most popular and strongest in the abyss featuring Bennett. This team is known as the National team and has a lot of variations. But every variation must have Bennett for the team to work. Here are the characters you need for the team:
- Childe / Xinqiu
- Sucrose / Kazuha
- Bennet
- Xangling
Here Childe or Xinque will provide the hydro element to allow your Xangling to vaporize and deal massive damage. Sucrose or Kazuha will swirl the hydro and pyro elements to increase the damage for your team. And Bennett will provide healing and damage buffs while doing respectable damage himself.
This team can work with a support style Bennett. But if you run a sub-DPS Bennett, the damage will increase to another level.
