D23 Expo 2022 Day 1: Complete list of announcements

A lot of exciting announcements are being made

The Disney D23 Expo 2022 is live and will continue until September 11. A lot of exciting announcements have already been made at the event. And more exciting announcements are on their way. In the Disney and Marvel Game Showcase, we saw announcements regarding trailers, release dates, and other updates about the upcoming games by Disney and Marvel. The Disney and Pixar Studio Showcase event showed us a glimpse of the upcoming movies that are supposed to be released by Pixar and Disney. Here is a list of all the major Disney D23 Expo event announcements.

Disney and Marvel Games Showcase: Complete list of games announcements on Day 1

1. An untitled game featuring Captain America and Black Panther

An untitled Marvel game was revealed that takes place during World War II featuring Captain America and Black Panther. The game is being developed by Skydance New Media and is set to take place across two locations and star four characters. No further details were provided at D23 Expo regarding the game.

2. Disney Tron Identity

Tron Identity is a visual novel adventure that follows Query, a detective program that must solve ‘an unprecedented crime.’ The newly revealed puzzle mystery game will be available on PC and console in 2023.

3. Disney Illusion Island

Disney Illusion Island is a 2D game starring the fab four- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy where they will set on a quest to explore the mysterious islands of Monoth and recover three mystical books to save the world.

4. Marvel Midnight Sun

Marvel’s Midnight Sun got a new release date after a long delay. The game will be released on 2nd December 2022 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series S/X. The release date of the Switch version of the game is yet to be announced.

5. Marvel Strike Force

Marvel Strike force is Marvel’s squad-based mobile RPG. The game has announced the addition of Red Hulk. The character will be available in the game from the 13th of September.

6. Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap is Marvel’s upcoming free-to-play collectible card game. The game will be released on 18 October 2022 for PC and mobile platforms. The game will feature 150+ Marvel heroes and villains. Pre-registration for the game is live right now.

7. Aliens: Dark Descent

The Disney and Marvel Game showcase event released the first looks of the game play of Aliens: Dark Descent. The game was previously announced at the Summer Game Fest. The game will be released on PC and console platforms in 2023.

8. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora received a quick game play overview trailer during the Disney and Marvel Showcase event.

9. Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is getting a new Galactic Edition arriving 1st of November. The new edition will be released with 13 new character packs.

10. Return to Monkey Island

The Return to Monkey Island is set to be released on 19th September globally. The developers shared a new trailer before the release of the game.

11. Gargoyles Remastered

The classic Gargoyles game released in 1995 is getting a remastered version which will be released on PC and console platforms. The game follows the plot of Disney’s animated series ‘Gargoyles.’

12. Disney Mirrorverse

Disney Mirrorverse is Disney’s free-to-play action RPG game. The game features the heroes and villains of the Disney universe going against a dark force. The mobile game will soon receive a Halloween update along with the addition of new characters.

13. Disney Speedstorm

Disney Speedstorm is an upcoming racing game by Disney. Monsters Inc. characters including Sulley, Mike Wazowski, Celia Mae, and Randall will be joining the team or racers in the game. The game is also adding a Monsters Inc.-inspired track called ‘The Factory.’ The release date of the game is yet to be confirmed.

14. Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is Disney’s recently famous life sim game. The game announced the addition of a new Toy Story realm later this year.

15. Avatar Reckoning

Avatar Reckoning is an upcoming mobile MMORPG Shooter game by Archosaur Games. The mobile title got a first look trailer during the Disney and Marvel Game Showcase event.

16. Marvel World of Heroes

Marvel World of Heroes is an upcoming AR game being developed with the partnership of Marvel Entertainment and Niantic. The game will bring the superheroes of Marvel universe into the real world. The pre-registration for the game is live right now.

2022 Disney and Pixar Studio Showcase Day 1: Complete list of movie and series announcements

1. Hocus Pocus 2

Hocus Pocus 2 will be coming out on Disney+ on September 30. A new poster and a trailer of the movie were revealed at the D23 Expo.

2. Disenchanted

Disenchanted, the much-awaited sequel of the famous Disney movie Enchanted has been announced at the D23 expo. The trailer showed grown-up Giselle who is now the mother of two children and trying to adjust to a normal life but life is not a fairy tale for her anymore. Disenchanted will be available to stream on Disney+ from November 24.

3. Peter Pan and Wendy

Disney revealed the first look at their new Peter Pan movie which will be available to stream on Disney+ in 2023. A trailer was shown to the audience but has not been released online yet. However, Walt Disney Studios has posted the first poster for the movie.

4. Haunted Mansion

Disney announced their upcoming ‘Haunted Mansion’ movie at the D23 Expo 2022. However, the trailer was only shown to the people who were present at the event and was not published online. The movie will have a Cameo from Winona Ryde and Dan Levy.

5. Mufasa The Lion King

The prequel of the Lion King movie ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ was revealed at the D23 expo which will be directed by Barry Jenkins. The audience was shown footage from Mufasa: The Lion King but nothing else has been posted online.

6. Snow White

Disney announced another much-awaited movie Snow White starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the evil queen. A teaser was shown to the audience at the D23 expo.

7. The Little Mermaid

Disney announced their upcoming remake of the famous animation movie ‘The Little Mermaid’ which will hit the screen on May 26. 2023 starring Halle Bailey as Ariel the mermaid.

8. Pixar’s Elemental

Pixar’s new movie Elemental was announced at the D23 expo and the teaser was shown to the audience present there. The movie will be released on June 16, 2023, and is based on the four classic elements: fire, water, land, and air.

9. Pixar’s Series Win or Lose

Win or Lose will be Pixar’s first animated series and was announced at the D23 expo. The series will be based on a baseball team called Pickles and will be available on Disney+ in 2023.

10. Pixar’s Elio

Elio is Pixar’s newest sci-fi movie based on an 11-year-old boy who transports across the galaxy and planets. The movie will be released in Spring 2024

11. Inside Out 2

Inside Out 2, the sequel of Disney’s famous movie Inside Out was announced at the D23 expo. The movie is currently under production and will be released in the Summer of 2024.

12. Iwájú

Iwájú is Disney’s upcoming movie set in the modern and futuristic Lagos, Nigeria which will be created in collaboration with Kugali Studio.

13. Strange World

Disney announced their new movie Strange World which will be available in the theaters on November 23, 2022.

14. Wish

Disney ended the first day with the reveal of the first look of their new movie ‘Wish’ which will be coming next year.
