Starfield themed limited-edition Xbox retail version is reportedly coming in 2023
The next big IP from the makers of Fallout
A Starfield-themed Xbox retail box has been spotted, which might indicate that Bethesda’s next RPG is on track to release in the first half of 2023. A picture showing a Starfield-themed Xbox Series X retail box was posted by user ‘Tube Station Gaming‘ on Twitter and wrote “Releasing 2023”. We might see these retail boxes in stores around the release of Starfield.
Starfield is the next big IP by Bethesda Game Studio after Fallout 76
Starfield is the next big RPG being developed by Bethesda Game Studios, almost five years after the release of their last game ‘Fallout 76’. This is a new IP from the team behind some of the greatest RPGs of all time, such as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the Fallout Series.
Starfield was supposed to launch on November 11, 2022, but in May 2022, Bethesda announced that the game had been delayed and would now release in 2023. According to an update on the Bethesda Support Website, Starfield will release in the first half of 2023.
Explore the Cosmos in Starfield
Starfield will be released in the first half of 2023 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive, meaning it will not be released on the Sony consoles, PS4 or PS5. There are also rumours that it might release in April after Arkane Studios’ ‘Redfall’.
The game is set in space, where the players can explore numerous planets in numerous systems and interact with the factions residing on those planets. Specifically, Starfield is set in an area called “The Settled Systems” that extends outward from the Solar System for approximately 50 light-years.
The game takes place in 2330, 20 years after a war between two of the largest factions in the game. As a player, we’ll assume the role of a member of Constellation, an organization of space explorers trying to navigate what remains of the aftermath.
The game will have all the Bethesda RPG features such as character creation, equipping different traits in character creators, skills to upgrade and many dialogue options, which may also result in different outcomes depending upon the different skills you have invested in. The player will also be able to explore space by flying around in their custom ship and engaging in ship-to-ship combat.
You’ll be able to buy Starfield when it releases for $70, and it will also be available on Microsoft’s subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, both for Consoles and PC.
