GTA 6 is reportedly “feature complete”, may be released sooner than expected

The next GTA to be set in Vice City.

GTA 6 is one of the most eagerly awaited games in recent memory, and it appears that gamers won’t have to wait too long to play it. A GTA insider recently revealed that game is further in its development cycle than expected and also that the game is “feature complete”.

This update comes courtesy of prominent Rockstar Games insider Tez2, who went through the files that had been leaked last year and concluded that the game is feature compete and the devs would now work towards making it content complete and polishing the game.

GTA 6 could release in 2025

The future game is “feature complete,” which normally means that full UI functionality has been implemented for it, according to his most recent post on the GTAForums. The insider also dissected each leaked footage from 2022 linked to the game and gleaned the hardware requirements for GTA 6 at the time the clips appeared.

A few builds were also revealed like “game_win64_beta.exe” , “game_win64_debug.exe”, “game_win64_bankrelease.exe” and “game_win64_bankrelease.exe” which were tested by the developers using different hardware including CPUs like Intel Core I9-980XE and AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX along with RTX 2080 Super.

The game is currently being tweaked by the developers to make it “content complete,” as per the report If this rumor is true, Grand Theft Auto 6’s announcement and possible release date information could be forthcoming soon. According to another report by Bloomberg, the game is still two years away from its release. So, we can expect to hear about the game next year and GTA 6 could be released in 2025. A release date earlier than that doesn’t seem plausible currently.

On September 18, 2022, Rockstar Games experienced one of the largest data breaches in history which resulted in the exposure of 90 movies totaling 53 minutes and 26 seconds of test footage of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. The player can be seen playing both male and female characters as part of the Bonnie and Clyde-like combo Jason and Lucia in the early test footage.

We also know through previous reports that the game will return to Vice City. GTA 6 will be the sequel to one of the highest selling games ever, which was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360 and PC. The game came to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 a year later and has been ported to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in recent years.
