Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe Box Art leak reveals an epilogue featuring Magolor
A look into the past of a antagonist
Nintendo‘s pink hero is about to return with a familiar tale but with new and improved graphics and gameplay mechanics in Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe and leaks have already started surfacing online regarding an added game mode in the game. A picture of the box art of the upcoming game was posted by a Reddit user on r/GamingLeaksAndRumors which shows an as-of-yet-unrevealed new mode for the game, titled “Magolor Epilogue”.
Kirby to have new Copying Abilities
Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe is a remake of the original game of the same name which was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Wii and released in 2011.
While the game features the same side-scrolling 2.5-D gameplay as the original, the graphics have been overhauled, giving all the characters strong outlines and increasing the detail and contrast. In addition, some of the characters have been updated to their modern looks. Other visual changes include enemies splatting against the screen when hit by Super Ability attacks.
Other changes include the new Mecha and Sand Copy Abilities, the Festival ability from Kirby Star Allies, along with a revamped collection of Sub-Games housed in the new location of Merry Magoland and a festive castle-like structure that resembles Magolor.
If the leak turns out to be true, the game will also feature an extra quest after ending the game involving Magolor, as one of its main characters. Magolor is a recurring character in the Kirby series, debuting as the main antagonist and final boss of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land.
Magolor already has defined playable moves through their appearance in Kirby Star Allies and most mainline Kirby games since the 2014’s Kirby Triple Deluxe have featured an epilogue-like mode of some kind. Some of these epilogues also have different playable characters.
We might get an update about the game in the upcoming weeks, maybe through a Nintendo Direct. Kirby’s Return To Dream Land Deluxe will release on 24 February 2023 on Nintendo Switch and is currently available to pre-order on the Nintendo Store.
