Elden Ring reportedly has a “Huge” DLC planned

Another rumor has surfaced online recently suggesting that a DLC for Elden Ring is in works at FromSoftware. A post shared on GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit contains a screenshot from a discord chat between Lance McDonald and another individual where Lance mentions about an Elden Ring DLC and also states that he knows a lot about the expansion.
Elden Ring’s Expansion might be ‘really big’
According to the discord chat snippet, Lance McDonald believes that the content added in the expansion would be “huge”. When asked by another user if the content would contain a new playable area Lance responded “I know a lot about what its adding, but I don’t know about any new gameplay mechanics. yeah really big”.
Lance McDonald is considered to be a pretty reliable insider, with many connections in the industry. He has previously discovered unseen content in many games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, and P.T., Nier Automata, which have helped bring new content to fans of these games that would otherwise have gone unseen.
So, if the rumor is to be believed we might get to see a new area, some cool new bosses, weapons, NPC’s and more in the new DLC. However, there might not be any new gameplay mechanics introduced such as new spells or attacks.
Elden Ring’s first DLC has already released
After the huge critical and commercial success of FromSoftware’s latest release, which brought the Souls gameplay into the beautiful open world of The Lands Between, fans were asking for more of the same in form of DLCs and expansions. A free DLC called Colosseum was released on 7 December 2022.
The Colosseum update has been released alongside Patch 1.08 for Elden Ring. These new PVP combat trials can be found throughout The Lands Between. The Colosseums can be found in 3 places, Limgrave, Caelid and Leyndell. Each Colosseum has different set of rules to provide variations in the PvP battles.
There is no official information about a new DLC for the game, but whenever it is released it would be playable on all the platforms on which the game is available. Elden Ring is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
