PUBG Mobile announces 2023 esports road map featuring major changes

New plans for esports in 2023

The expansion of the PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL), a dedicated amateur eco-system leading up to the PMPL Qualifier, and the addition of more PUBG MOBILE Regional Clash (PMRC) tournaments was recently announced as part of a number of updates to the PUBG MOBILE Esports program for 2023 by PUBG MOBILE. With the introduction of a specialized amateur eco-system that culminates in the PUBG MOBILE Pro League Qualifier in 2024, semi-professional and amateur teams will have access to an increased number of chances to compete and earn slots in the PUBG MOBILE Pro League.

PMPL hopes to give more chances to the semi-pro and amateur teams from 2023

It has been announced that PUBG MOBILE will implement several improvements to the PMPL, one of which will be exciting expansion updates in the Southeast Asia area. PUBG Mobile is delighted to announce that PMPL MY/SG/PH will now be known as PMPL Malaysia. Additionally, PMPL SEA Wild Card (PH/KH/MM/SG) will be introduced, encompassing the territories of the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Singapore.

The PMPL will act as the host for the PMPL Qualifier, which will serve as the entry point for semi-professional and amateur teams into the PMPL in 2024. Participating in the PUBG MOBILE National Championship, the PUBG MOBILE Club Open, or other third-party events will provide teams entry for the PMPL Qualifier. PUBG MOBILE is dedicated to providing more possibilities than ever before for semi-pro and amateur teams, along with a clear route to the professional scene.

PUBG Mobile to host several major tournaments throughout 2023

After the success of its inaugural PUBG MOBILE Regional Clash in 2022, PUBG MOBILE Esports will be bringing further competitions in 2023. This is going to be done in order to develop more exciting rivalries between different regions.

The PUBG MOBILE Regional Clash is a competition that takes place outside of the worldwide PUBG MOBILE Esports events and gives spectators the opportunity to see their favourite regional teams compete against one another.

The PUBG MOBILE World Invitational will take place in Riyadh in the month of July 2023, while the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship will be held in Turkey for the very first time beginning in the month of November 2023. Both of these events will take place in 2023.

Fans may also anticipate seeing PUBG MOBILE Esports compete in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, which will be held in Cambodia in May, and the 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, beginning in September. Both of these events will be hosted by China. The Southeast Asian Games will play home to two different PUBG MOBILE medal competitions, one of which is a team competition, while the other is an individual competition.

In addition, PUBG MOBILE Esports will implement two new format adjustments to improve players’ overall experience. In an effort to increase both the level of excitement and the level of competition during games, all tournaments will be switching to a 10-point scoring system.

2022 has been a great year of success for PUBG Mobile Esports

The year 2022 was a significant one for PUBG MOBILE Esports, as it was marked by a number of incredible accomplishments, such as the hosting of 13 PUBG MOBILE Premier Leagues (PMPLs) across 5 regions, the participation of 343 professional teams and more than 2000 professional players in PUBG MOBILE Esports competitions, and the registration of a record-breaking 600,000 teams for the 2022 PUBG MOBILE Club Open.
