Fans of “The Settlers” series will be excited to hear that the iconic series is going to be getting a new entry on February 17th, 2023. First released in 1993 the reboot is titled “The Settlers: New Allies” and will be arriving on all major consoles. Create your civilization in The Settlers: New Allies

The Settlers are a series of city-building and real-time-strategy games produced for the most part by Blue Byte. The series was taken over by Ubisoft in 2001.

The objective of these games for the most part is heavily focused on settlement building and tons of economy-based management. Many consider the Settler games to be more of an economy management game since a large part of the experience is micromanaging the sustainability of your settlement.

The game features military units as well and players can choose to conquer territory and expand the reach and scale of their settlement.  Some games of the series had more emphasis on military dynamics while others such as The Settlers: Rise of an Empire focused more on city-building and economy.

Settlers New Allies which is releasing thirteen years after the last game (The Settlers Online) will feature a rich story-driven campaign. The game features three factions “Elari, Maru & Jorn.” You play as the Elari faction who have been pushed out from their homeland and need to make friends with the other two factions and find somewhere to build up your settlement.

New Allies also introduces the Skirmish/PVP modes that allow you to match with up to seven players or AI bots.

Platform availability

While the game is coming to PC first on February 17, 2023. Ubisoft has confirmed that the game is in development for several other platforms such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna.
