Star Wars Eclipse: Gameplay details, release date, and everything we know so far

Experience the High Republic era and balance peace of the Outer Rim

As reported earlier, Lucasfilm Games and developers Quantic Dream have been working on their new title Star Wars Eclipse. The game will be a new action-adventure, multiple-character branching narrative game where the players can play as different characters, each with their own story, ability, and role in the game’s overall story. In this article, we summarize everything we know about Star Wars Eclipse and will be updating as soon as anything is revealed in the future.

Quantic Dream announced the game at the Games Award last year and revealed that “Star Wars Eclipse is the first video game to be set in an uncharted region of the Outer Rim during The High Republic era, known as the golden age of the Jedi.” No other update has been announced by the developers since the reveal and the fans have been waiting early for one.

Star Wars Eclipse will be set in the High Republic era

Star Wars Eclipse will be set in the High Republic era, almost 200 years before the Skywalker era. The game will have a unique cast of characters and follow an original Star Wars story. The game’s story will advance according to the player’s choice, just like Quantum Studio’s famous title Detroit: Become Human.

This will give the player’s the freedom to explore the newly introduced era as they want, and the game will have some known characters and locations while Quantic Dream will introduce many new ones, creating a new story for the players which has never been told before Star Wars Eclipse. Every decision made by the players will have a dramatic consequence during the game’s journey.

Star Wars Eclipse: new protagonist details

The Star Wars canon is full of different eras and races, and Star Wars Eclipse will reportedly introduce a new race from an empire named Zaraan to the game. In the Sacred Symbols podcast (transcribed by VGC), Colin Moriarty revealed that the game is still not fully in production. However, he told several exciting pieces of information about the upcoming game from a document that provides an overview of the game’s main protagonist, Sarah.

Moriarty continues to describe the main character of the game name Sarah, who is in her thirty-something age and is very athletic. The protagonist is from a human-like race at the lead of an empire called The Zaraan, who are political, and their military is very aggressive and has both males and females responsible for their military activities without any discrimination. However, when two members of the Zaraan are married, they become one governing unit that works together.

The problem arises when Sarah, who is violent and supports her empire’s Violent rules, marries Xendo, who is pretty soft. Most of the game’s story revolves around their conflict and the relationship between these two characters. However, the developers have not confirmed this plot, which Quantic Dream might also change in the final game.

Star Wars Eclipse: release date

Quantic Dream is yet to announce anything related to the release date of Star Wars Eclipse. It will be released on Xbox and PC and is currently in the early development stage and might take another four or five years to be finally released. We will update this article as soon as the developers announce the release date. For more information, feel free to check out the game’s official site.
