Finally a new Sims game

In the recently concluded, Behind the Sims Summit, Electronic Arts announced a new game to The Sims franchise The Sims 5. The game was officially announced with a code name called ‘Project Rene.’ The Sims 5 or Project Rene is announced after almost 8 years of The Sims 4 being released. The new game is going to feature everything from the other Sims game with a new look and renewed commitment. A few minutes of gameplay were shown as part of the announcement in the Behind the Sims summit.

The Sims 5 will bring a lot of changes to the franchise

The Sims 5 will be bringing a completely new building and buying system. Players can now place their furniture at whatever location they want to. Previously, players could only move items on different blocks. Players can also customize a lot of things in The Sims 5 including the interior designs.

No other information regarding the gameplay of The Sims 5 was revealed at the event. Maxis has already mentioned a lot of times that the project is still in a very early stage. Fans will have to wait a bit longer to receive any kind of gameplay trailers or first look. But it is confirmed that The Sims 5 will bring a lot of changes to The Sims franchise.

Platform availability

The platforms for The Sims 5 have not been announced yet. However, from the past games we can say that the game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

System requirements

The system requirements for Project Rene (The Sims 5) are yet to be announced by the developers. Keep a close eye on our page to receive any updates regarding the system requirements of the game.

Project Rene is still in a very early phase as per the developers. Looking at everything, the fans can hope that the game will be released sometime around the end of 2024.

About the early access to the game, Lyndsay Pearson, VP of Franchise Creative for The Sims said, Over the next couple of years, we’ll continue sharing updates with all of you on Project Rene. We’ll share in-progress work, explorations, sneak-peeks, and behind-the-scenes content as well as start to open up Early Access to Project Rene software to small groups over time.

Judging everything, it looks like both the release and the early access of the game is very far away in the future. However, the news of a new Sims game has already created waves of happiness in the community. Fans will be very eagerly waiting for the release of The Sims 5.
