Ubisoft has provided new updates regarding the Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time Remake in a recent announcement on their website. The developers have also confirmed that the development of the game is not being cancelled. Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time Remake was initially supposed to be released on January 2021. The development of the game was also shifted to Ubisoft Montreal from Ubisoft Mumbai. Despite the delay, the fans can finally be relieved after hearing that the game is still under development.
Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time: gameplay details
Released in 2003, Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time is one of the most famous games of the franchise. After its massive success and demand for a remake, Ubisoft announced the remake version back in September 2020.
In Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time, players take up the role of a prince from the kingdom of Persia. During their exploration throughout the game, players come across a lot of difficulties and need to clear them in order to move to the next chapter.
The game opens with the Prince telling an unidentified listener about his travels. The story of Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time is set in Persia in the ninth century. The prince travels to the Sultan of Azad across India with his army, according to the plot. During his travel, the prince gets into trouble with the Maharaja and a local vizier, where he needs to fight against enemies to get out of the trouble.
Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time also features several old-school movement mechanisms. Although it still isn’t clear if the movement mechanism of the remake version is still going to be the same. During the journey, the prince does a lot of acrobatic movements, like wall running, walking along beams, swinging on and jumping from poles, jumping onto and between pillars, and many more.
Platform availablity
Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time Remake will be available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms according to initial information. The game might also be released for other consoles in the future. The developers are yet to announce anything regarding this matter.
Pre-order details
Ubisoft had opened a pre-order for Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time before once. But as the game currently doesn’t have any release date, the developers have decided to cancel the pre-orders of the game. All the existing pre-orders have already been cancelled and refunded where applicable.
