Before reaching the Pokémon league, you must gather enough knowledge about the Pokémon and their moves and have high-level and stronger Pokémon in your collection. In this guide, we will discuss in detail the strategies and Pokémon deck you should carry to battle against the elite four.

How to reach Pokémon League in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Pokémon League is situated in Mesagoza; from the city center heading towards the northeast of the city, you will find a big stair and an open gate that leads to a tunnel. Enter through the gates, and you will reach the path to the Pokémon league. Keep following the way which leads toward the Pokémon center and Pokémon League building. You can stock up on items, heal up in the Pokémon center, and then proceed towards the Pokémon League building.

After you reach the Pokémon League building, you will meet Geeta, and after a short conversation, head inside. You will meet the League Rep at the doors, who will ensure you have all eight gym badges before entering the Pokémon League building. Once inside, he will take you to Rika, where you must pass the Pokémon League Champion Assessment test before fighting the elite four.

How to pass the Pokémon League Champion assessment test in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Once you have entered the Pokémon League, you will have to sit for an interview before Rika. Rika will ask you some questions, and we have prepared the best answers for you to pass the test:

  • How did you get here today? Choose any.
  • Please tell me the name of the school you are enrolled in? Naranja Academy for Scarlet or Uva Academy for Violet.
  • So, what brings you to the Pokémon League today? I came to become a Champion
  • Now, what do you intend to do if and when you become a Champion? Choose any, and remember the answer.
  • Which of the eight Gyms gave you the most difficulty? Choose any.
  • And what was the name of the Gym Leader you faced there? Choose based on the gym you picked.
  • Do you remember which type of Pokémon Gym Leader used? Choose based on the gym you picked.
  • What was the category of the Pokémon you chose to be your first partner? Choose based on your starter Pokémon
  • Remind me, what do you intend to do if and when you become a Champion? Repeat the answer as earlier.
  • Do you like Pokémon? Yes

How to beat Rika from the elite four in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Rika will be the first member you will fight from the elite four. Rika’s team is mainly made of Ground-type Pokémon; her strongest Pokémon is the ground tera-type Clodsire. Here’s the squad you will be fighting against when you go up against Rika in the Pokémon League:

PokémonLevelTypeTera Type
Whiscash57Water/Ground
Camerupt57Fire/Ground
Dugtrio57Ground
Donphan57Ground
Clodsire58Poison/GroundGround

The ground-type Pokémon are weaker against Grass or Bug-type Pokémon and are vulnerable to attack from Water, Grass, and Ice-type Pokémon. So, we would suggest you bring a strong Pokémon from the Water, Grass, and Ice-type Pokémon and use your water-type Pokémon as your primary Pokémon in the battle.

You can use the dragon and ice-type moves throughout the battle against Larry’s, which will work well. We suggest using a Pokémon like Gyarados, which uses both Dragon and Ice-type attacks.
