Diablo IV: Gameplay details, release date, pre-order details and more
Advance through the quests in the dark world of Sanctuary
Diablo IV is the fourth title of the famous action role-playing hack-and-slash game series developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The game was previously announced four years ago at the BlizzCon 2019 and is set to be released in 2023. The game has completed several beta tests and faced gameplay footage leaks last month. This article will discuss everything you need about Diablo IV, including its release date, platform availability, system requirements, pre-order details, and many more.
Travel through the open world of Sanctuary and fight enemies in Diablo IV
Diablo IV is set in the world of Sanctuary and will take place a few years after the events of Diablo III where millions have lost their lives in the war between the Heavens and Hells and will introduce a new antagonist named Lilith. The game’s story follows Lillith’s return after she was banished earlier by the angel Inarius. Years before the events of the game, Lillith and Inarius created Sanctuary as a place for providing refuge to those who escaped from the conflict of Heaven and Hell and their relation resulted in the creation of a new race named Nephalem.
The Nephalem are neither Angels nor Demons but more potent than both. The people in Sanctuary thought they were dangerous and wanted to destroy them. However, Lilith protected her children and destroyed whoever tried to harm the Nephalems, but she was later banished to the void by Inarius. Now, Lilith has returned after being summoned by the Cultists and plans to take over the world of Sanctuary.
Diablo IV will be an open-world game, and the players can travel through five different regions: Scosglen, Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, Hawezar, and Kehjistan. Each of the regions in the game will be 10–20 times larger than the areas present in the previous games.
Five classes of characters have been confirmed to appear in Diablo IV till now: Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Rogue, and Necromancer. Players will be able to customize the appearance and abilities of these characters.
Like other Diablo games, the players must progress through the game’s story and quests by defeating enemies. These enemies will be from different monster families and have unique silhouettes, stances and weapons.
The gameplay follows the classic hack-and-slash method, where the players will have to defeat the enemies using different weapons and items, which can be upgraded throughout the game for better stats and boosts. Diablo IV will also introduce new systems like trading and crafting, including microtransactions for several game cosmetics.
Diablo IV will present a unique co-op system and a PvP zone where the players can battle against each other. The game has a shared world system where players can encounter or play with each other.
Diablo IV: available platforms
Diablo IV will have a crossplay feature and be available to play on PC, Play Station 5, Xbox Series X and last-gen consoles like PS4 or Xbox One. Diablo IV will be a premium title from Blizzard Entertainment, but the game’s price is still unannounced by the developers.
