Developers showing early build footage to support Rockstar Games after criticism on GTA6 early graphics

After a massive GTA 6 leak last week that took the internet by storm, Rockstar Games has faced enormous criticism from the fans for how bad the graphics looked, even though the gameplay footage is from early development. A total of 90 pieces of footage were leaked by a 17-year-old hacker who was reportedly arrested by the London police yesterday. The footage showed both playable characters moving around in the Miami-inspired Vice City, robbing a diner, viewing the nightclub, conversations between NPC, and shooting animations.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the leaks were real and posted a message on their social media handles addressing the network intrusion that caused the most significant gaming leak of all time. Take-two Interactive, the leading company behind Rockstar Games, has experienced a $510 million loss from its market cap after the GTA 6 leak. Although the graphics were from the early development stage, many fans still took on the internet to criticize Rockstar Games for the unfinished and unpolished GTA 6 gameplay posted online.

Amid heavy criticism triggered by a tweeter user who posted, “If you knew how game development goes, you’d know that visuals are one of the first things done. The game is four years into planning & development. What you see is almost exactly what you will get”.
