CD PROJEKT RED announces 5 new titles including a New Cyberpunk game, and 3 in the Witcher IP

5 new exciting titles are on the way

In a recent Twitter post, CD PROJEKT RED has announced 5 new codenames and titles including three new Witcher games, one new IP, a new Cyberpunk game, and an expansion of Cyberpunk 2077. Additionally, in a blog post, CPR has published an update on different long time key-projects. The developers announced a new studio that will be launched in North America and their plans of adding a multiplayer mode to their future projects and further expansion in the direction of film and TV of the franchise.

In the blog post, CD PROJEKT RED has revealed that they are focusing on two new AAA titles from the beginning of 2022 and their plans on creating new revolutionary role-playing games.

CD PROJEKT RED has also revealed their plans for the Movie and TV industry following their success on the Netflix anime series The Cyberpunk: EDGERUNNERS, and also their plans to implement the flywheel concept in their franchise to develop an ecosystem and the studio’s plan to collaborate with external teams.

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a new expansion and a new game

Phantom Liberty

A new major story-driven expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 titled Phantom Liberty was previously announced by CD PROJEKT RED which is currently in the final production phase and will be released in 2023. Additionally, CD PROJEKT RED has announced that a new Cyberpunk title is under development.

Project Orion

Project Orion is the codename for the new Cyberpunk game which will show the full potential of the Cyberpunk universe. The title will be developed by CPR’s new North American studio in Boston.

CD PROJEKT RED announces three new Witcher titles

It was announced previously that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting a new-gen console edition which will be coming out this year. Additionally, the developers have announced codenames for three more Witcher titles.

Project Sirius

Project Sirius is the codename for one new Witcher title which the Molasses Flood studio is developing. According to Adam Kiciński, the CEO of CD PROJEKT RED “The game will be set in The Witcher universe, but it differs from our past releases in that it targets a much broader audience. Sirius will provide both single-player and multiplayer gameplay

Polaris

Polaris is the codename of the title which will be the start of a new Witcher saga, two more titles will be added to this new AAA RPG trilogy which is planned to be released in the next six years by CD PROJEKT RED. The blog post mentions that “The second and third installment will rely on the technological foundation put in place for Polaris, which should streamline development and enable the Studio to focus on achieving its creative vision.”

Canis Majoris

Canis Majoris is the codename for a brand new Witcher game that will be different from the saga starting with Polaris. The production of this title is being done by an external studio under the supervision of the original developers from the Witcher games. The game will be developed using Unreal Engine 5 and will be the first title that’s being designed outside of CD PROJEKT RED. However, the CEO has ensured that the quality of this title will not lag behind their in-house production.

CD PROJEKT RED is working on a new IP codenamed Hadar

CD PROJECT RED has announced that they are working on an entirely new original IP codenamed Hadar. Regarding the new IP Michał Nowakowski, Board Member responsible for business development has said that the work for this title started back in 2021 and the IP is being created entirely by CD PROJEKT RED. However, the developers are currently working on the basic concepts for the new franchise.
