Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 01 complete overview

Everything that you need to know before the launch

After a successful launch of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign and its multiplayer mode, we are heading towards the release of Warzone 2.0 along with the Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2. A new map, new weapon and battle mechanisms, a new circle collapse system, and many other new features will be included in the game. In this article, we will give a complete overview of Season 01 of Warzone 2.0. Meanwhile, if you are excited about the launch of Warzone 2.0, make sure to check the launch time according to your location.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: new map Al Mazrah

Al Mazrah is the new and biggest battleground of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. It is a metropolitan area in the Republic of Adal with 18 major Points of Interest. This enormous metropolis is featured in the Campaign and plays a crucial role in the events that follow it in the Modern Warfare II world.

Those who are now playing Modern Warfare II are receiving extensive instruction on Al Mazrah. For instance, this vast territory is divided into the following multiplayer maps:

  • Al Bagra Fortress (Core Map)
  • Embassy (Core Map)
  • Zarqwa Hydroelectric (Core Map)
  • Taraq (both Core and Battle Map)
  • Sariff Bay (Battle Map)
  • Sa’id (Battle Map)

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: custom loadouts

Custom Loadouts are back for Warzone 2.0. In this new game, players will have quicker access to their Loadout’s key benefit: the Primary Weapon. Loadouts, like in the original Call of Duty: Warzone, play a significant role in what makes this game distinctive. A loadout, or at the very least a primary weapon, can be obtained in one of three ways:

  1. Shop: Players can purchase their Primary Weapon from their created Loadouts at the Shops (the Buy Station’s new name), using in-game Cash.
  2. Loadout Drop Public Event: Midway through battles in the Battle Royale mode, loadout drops will land in Al Mazrah. These, however, are open to all players and are not restricted to or assigned to specific squads.
  3. Strongholds and Black Sites: In the early stages of the game, players can also earn their loadout by defeating a stronghold or a black site.

Additionally, in-match Cash can be used to purchase your Primary Weapon from created Loadouts.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: looting mechanics

A new Backpack system will be used in Warzone 2.0, which is completely integrated for DMZ and simplified for Battle Royale situations. Similar to the last Warzone, supplies will be thrown out in Battle Royale for players to pick up.

A loot menu will appear when a player interacts with any other type of treasure container, such as a duffel bag or medical case. A player’s primary weapon and the rest of their stuff, which can be accessed through a loot menu, are both dropped on the ground after they die.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: new Gulag

After Next, the brand-new Gulag underwent some changes over the previous two months while remaining rooted in a classic Warzone setting. The Gulag will be a 2v2 setting where randomly partnered Duos will have to work together to defeat their rivals. All players will have a predetermined loadout, which at launch will consist of a pistol or shotgun, a lethal grenade, and a tactical grenade, with the most potent equipment and weapons placed in the center of the map.

A Jailer will also be a part of the Gulag, and he or she will enter the fray in the middle of the battle to hasten the fighting. When the Jailer is defeated, all four Gulag inmates will be brought back into the Battle Royale, which presents a dilemma: Should both Duos agree to wait and battle this formidable foe together, or should one grow cocky and try to win by elimination? Instead of using the standard Overtime concept, all four Operators lose if neither team nor the Jailer is removed after a certain length of time.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: new AI Combatants in Battle Royale

The Gulag is just one of three locations where players can engage in combat with AI enemies because they are only allowed to guard designated areas. Strongholds and Black Sites are the other two locations, and they are both clearly marked on your in-game Tac-Map so you can choose to engage AI combatants.

There will be multiple Strongholds triggered during the course of each encounter. To engage AI warriors, squads can travel to these locations. A key to a Black Site and their Custom Loadout will be awarded to the first team to finish a Stronghold, which also requires them to defuse a bomb. In order to receive their Custom Loadout but not a Black Site key, succeeding teams must take out a predetermined number of defenders (AI or players).

Strongholds in the form of Black Sites are more dangerous, but clearing them out rewards you with a permanent Weapon Blueprint and even more expensive in-game items. They can only be obtained using the Black Site key, which is given to the first team to successfully clear one of the active Strongholds.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: aquatic combat, new vehicles and fuel mechanic, and more

Not everything will be different from what we saw at Next. In addition to some other new features, expect the following in Warzone 2.0.

Circle Collapse

In Battle Royale modes, there may be more than one safe zone; these additional circles will eventually remerge for the final confrontation. This feature is randomized for every match, so be prepared to modify your strategies accordingly.

Proximity Chat

All communication channels are now open, allowing any squad to hear any in-game conversation. This may provide fresh approaches to combat situations or cause trouble for adversaries who are camped out in structures.

Assimilation

Players will have the option to team up with rival Operators to form a larger squad in squad-based DMZ modes and exclusive Battle Royale playlists.

Interrogation (Battle Royale and DMZ only)

The key to squad-based games is intelligence. By effectively shaking down adversaries under player control while they are downed, you can reveal enemy positions.

Vehicle Fuel, Gas Station Mechanic

All cars need gasoline over time, and when it runs out, the vehicle is no longer operable. Therefore, there can be no more endless fuel sources. Gas Stations or the Gas Cans dotted over the map may be used to refuel vehicles.

Additionally, gas stations may fix tires and body damage, restoring the health of the car. However, by engaging with certain tires, Operators may also fix flat tires anywhere in the world.

Aquatic Combat

Operators can go across rivers, in a boat, or by swimming breaststroke as part of their larger victory plan. Keep in mind that when underwater, only sidearms, melee weapons, and throwing knives are legal weapons to employ. Use lethal and tactical equipment as well for a variety of additional potentially destructive effects on land or in the water.

The Shops: Buy Station 2.0

Killstreaks, armour plates, and other special things are available for purchase in small quantities at each Buy Station. Within a new interface, you may examine these options and purchase back fallen teammates.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0: all kinds of vehicles

Aerial powerhouse known as the Heavy Chopper, which can hover in the air without a pilot, and the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup, a versatile way to quickly cover the serious ground with the entire squad in this all-electric super truck, are the two new vehicles that define the updated vehicle roster for Warzone 2.0.

Here is the full roster of vehicles you can expect to find in Al Mazrah:

  • UTV: All-terrain lightweight four-seater.
  • Hatchback: Four-door civilian vehicle without any significant protection.
  • SUV (Standard): All-terrain civilian 4×4 with a boxy frame.
  • GMC Hummer EV: All-electric super truck engineered for off-road.
  • Cargo Truck: Large industrial vehicle with a flatbed.
  • Light Helo: Twin-engine light helicopter for rapid traversal and combat support.
  • Heavy Chopper: Heavily armoured search-and-rescue helicopter.
