PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 update patch notes: Gunplay updates, world and map updates, and more

A lot of new changes are being implemented

Krafton Inc. has announced the new patch update for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 will be going live on October 11 for PC and October 19 on consoles. The patch update will feature several improvements to weapon attachments, as well as updates to firing from vehicles, a new ranked season, world and map updates, and quality-of-life updates. Here is a complete breakdown of the new PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 patch update.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 update: gunplay updates

Weapon Attachments

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 will bring changes to the Thumbgrip, Angled Foregrip, Halfgrip, Vertical Foregrip, and Lightweight Grip due to the Vertical Foregrip dominating the battlegrounds as the choice grip slot attachment. Here are all the changes being made in the weapon attachments:

Thumbgrip

  • Vertical recoil control: +5% → +8%
  • ADS speed: +30% → +40%
  • Sway control (breathing): +20%

Angled Foregrip

  • Sway control (firing): +5% → 0%
  • Horizontal recoil control: +15% → +20%
  • ADS speed: +10%
  • Sway control (breathing): -20% → â€“10%

Halfgrip

  • Vertical recoil control: +8%
  • Horizontal recoil control: +8%
  • Sway control (breathing): -20% → â€“10%
  • Recoil recovery: +10%
  • Sway control (firing): -15% → -5%

Vertical Foregrip

  • Vertical recoil control: +15%
  • Sway control (firing): +15% → 0%

Lightweight Grip

  • Sway control (firing): +20%
  • Initial shot recoil control: +40%
  • Sway control (breathing): +20%
  • Recoil recovery after shot: +20% added

Firing from vehicles

The new patch update of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is also bringing changes to the firing from vehicle mechanism to reduce one-sided engagements between vehicles and on-foot players. Here are the changes:

  • Driver’s Seat: Players driving a vehicle in the driver’s seat will have their handgun reload animation canceled if the player controls the vehicle’s steering wheel. Handguns’ reload duration will also increase by approximately 50%, along with the recoil increasing by approximately 20% for PC users.
  • Passenger Seats: Weapon recoil will increase to 20% for PC users.

Weapon scopes

  • 8x and 15x Scopes are now available to be attached to the M16A4 and Mk47 Mutant.
  • 4x Scope will receive three additional reticle types for players to freely select and use their preferred type.

Newly added Esports objects such as flags, billboards, and building decorations will be scattered throughout Erangel, Taego, and Miramar to celebrate the upcoming PUBG Global Championship 2022.

Blue Zone

Changes are being implemented on the Blue Zone in Deston due to players appearing to be eliminated from the competition more often. Here are all the upcoming changes:

Phase 1

  • Radius Rate (size of the circle compared to the previous one): Increased by approximately 30%.
  • Start delay: 150s → 180s

Phase 2

  • Radius Rate: Increased by approximately 15%.
  • Damage Magnifier per Distance: Increased by approximately 6%.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 update: ranked season 20

With the introduction of Ranked Season 20 in Update 20.1, all rewards obtained during Ranked Season 19 will be immediately added to players’ inventories. Every award will be gone from players’ Edit Profile pages once Season 19 is over and the server has gone through maintenance, with the exception of the Parachute Skin and Medal.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 20.1 update: quality of life adjustments

Carry Feature: The Carry feature can now be used or canceled with the Limited Interact keys. Several bug fixes and improvements have also been made when using the Carry feature during certain situations.

Screen Ping Marker: The Screen Ping Marker will now appear more transparent the closer a player or weapon crosshair is to the marker. The Marker will now be available in Ranked matches and disappears after 30 seconds.

Radio Message: New Inventory-related Radio Messages will come with Update 20.1. Players will now be able to alert teammates about the number of a certain item in their vicinity or inventory, as well as alert members if a player has a certain scope equipped or needs a specific item, attachment, or weapon.
