The story of NieR: Automata ver1.1a is set in a distant future in 5012. Human life on earth is in the blink of extinction after the attack of the aliens and their machines. Whoever survived left earth and took shelter on the moon. From there they prepare for the counter-attack but all their efforts go to waste. The android soldiers on earth multiply by then. After some time humans develop ultimate soldiers to retake earth from the androids. They are called YoRHa.
