Vinland Saga is an anime series which is inspired by the Japanese historical manga of the same name, written by Makoto Yukimura. The anime version of the manga is published by Mappa Studio. The first season of Vinland Saga was released back in 2019. And it was one of the most brutal anime till now. Since then fans are eagerly waiting for the second season of this series. But the wait is finally over. Vinland Saga Season 2: Plot
Vinland Saga is a historical drama. The story of the series revolves around Thorfinn, the series’ main character. Thors the general of Jomsviking is also the father of Thorfinn. The first season focuses on Thorfinn trying to revenge his father’s death, who is killed in an unfair fight by Askeladd, who is the leader of mercenaries. From then Thorfinn stays with mercenaries for a chance of killing Askeladd.
But the series finishes with a dramatic end. Askeladd was killed by Canute. Thorfinn’s whole reason for living is to avenge his father’s death by killing Askeladd. Now he is hopeless and is ordered to move to an unknown place for he can harm Canute.
The second season of the series is going to be “The Slave” arc. In this arc, Thorfinn was sold as a Scandinavian slave. Having lost all his will to live he never resist this master until he met another slave named Einar. He helped get Thorfinn out of his condition and together they get out of slavery. We don’t know yet if the anime adopt the exact manga version or not. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Thorfinn.
