Square Enix might be developing a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster as hinted by a producer

The remaster was also leaked in a Nvidia GeForce Now Leak, two years ago.

Many of Square Enix’s earlier role-playing games have been remastered in recent years, and a Square Enix producer suggests that the Final Fantasy Tactics series may also be making a comeback.

Producer Ichiro Hazama may have hinted at a remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics in an interview with the French website Finaland. Hazama is responsible for both Dissidia Final Fantasy the upcoming Theatrhythm Final Bar Line.

Final Fantasy Tactics team is apparently busy

The new Final Fantasy rhythm game is discussed in an interview hosted by the French website Finaland. Topics covered include the game’s relationship to the rest of the series, format changes, and the likely types of characters we’ll see this time around. Hazama explained that the crew behind Final Fantasy Tactics is “extremely busy” with “another project” right now, which is why there are no playable characters in the game.

Hazama said, “The Tactics (team) is very busy at the moment, they have other things to do. They are fully involved in another project at the moment, so we don’t have time to talk to them”, explaining that different teams take care of their respective games of Final Fantasy in the company. “I think this is probably why more Final Fantasy Tactics characters have not been added to the game”

Final Fantasy Tactics was released in 1997 by Square for the PlayStation 1 and is a tactical role-playing game. It is the first game in the Final Fantasy franchise and the first game in the Tactics series, both of which were released by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan in June 1997 and in the United States in January 1998.
