Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer reveal Books, Tera Raid Battles, Events, and more
New and exciting features to be added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
In a recently published trailer and some press releases on their website, Game Freak has revealed several new pieces of information regarding the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet books, Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles, Tera Raid Battle Events, Pokemon Home integration, 1.0.1 update, and many more things. The trailer comes just a few days before the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet release on November 18th 2022.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera raid events and Black Crystal Tera raid event
The almost four-minute-long trailer of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has shown some details about the game’s Tera raid battles, which Game Freak further explained in detail in the press release. Tera raid battles are time-limited raid events where the players can take on specific Pokemon or fight Pokemons with specific tera types, which will be available soon after the game is released.
The first Tera Raid Battle event, called “the Eevee Spotlight”, will take place from Thursday, November 24, to Sunday, November 27, 2022. “During the event, Eevee will be appearing more frequently in Tera Raid Battles, and they will have various Tera Types.” says the press release.
Another press release describes the black crystals, which will take the players in a black crystal tera raid. Black crystal tera raids are more challenging than ordinary tera raids, and much stronger Pokemons will be present in these raids. Defeating these unique and robust Pokemons will give the players more exciting rewards than usual tera raids.
The first Black Crystal Tera raid event will appear as a mighty Charizard, a Pokemon with Dragon as its Tera type, and cannot be encountered in Paldea usually. So, the players will only meet the mighty Charizard twice in the upcoming event. Once from December 1–4, then again on December 15–18.
Event Schedule: Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. – Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 3:59 p.m. PST and Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. – Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 3:59 p.m. PST.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet new Pokemon and Books
Like every other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, the latest trailer also revealed some new Pokemons. This time two ancient forms of Donphan were shown: Great Tusk and Iron Treads. Game Freak revealed information about these two monsters and two books ‘Scarlet Book’ and ‘Violet Book’ in a press release.
The Great Tusk, which will be depicted in the Pokemon Scarlet book, describes how the monster attacked and wounded the explorers with its large body and tusks. In the ‘Violet Book’ of Pokemon Violet, Iron Tread is described as a monster that curls its body and rolls to attack, leaving a trail in the ground, which looks like the beast has scorched the earth.
The books are filled with more photos and sketches of unidentified creatures, which were written long ago as records from an expedition.
New Pokemon Home integration and play record bonuses
The Pokemon Home integration will be coming to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in Spring 2023, through which players will be able to send the Pokemons obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to Pokemon Home and also can send selective Pokemons obtained in the past games to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
From the Pokemon Home app, players will be able to view insights on their trainer rank, Online Competitions, and most used Pokemons, moves and abilities on their mobile.
Players who have records in previous Pokemon games like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Players can claim a Rotom phone case as a bonus in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, whose design will be inspired by the player’s previous game.
The players will be able to receive these Rotom Phone cases by talking to the woman in front of the stairs leading up to Mesagoza’s central plaza and reaching that point will take approximately two hours of playtime.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet update 1.0.1 revealed
In a separate press release, Game Freak has revealed the first software update that is planned after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is released. Version 1.0.1 update of the game will be the same day the game is released and will allow the players to enjoy the online play of the game like:
- Participating in tera raid battle events.
- Receive a special Pikachu as an early-purchase bonus.
- Play multiplayer with family and friends.
- Battle with trainers from all over the world in the Battle Stadium.
