How to use Xbox Cloud Games (Xcloud) seamlessly in any country

Start enjoying Gamepass and Xcloud with on device

Xbox Game Pass combined with the Cloud makes for the experience dreams are made of. Being able to access a vast and ever-evolving library of games and playing them without the fuss of downloading them or buying a console really sounds like the future of gaming. However, this convenience isn’t available in all countries as swiftly. So what’s the solution? In this guide, we’ll provide a detailed step-by-step guide for a  process described as “magic” that can make the games completely playable via Xcloud with a reliable internet connection and an android or PC in any country.

What you need for this process

This process doesn’t need much to start with, actually, it’s the procedure that matters more than the ingredients. A huge shoutout to redditcruzer who pointed this out in the subreddit r/IndianGaming.

  • Gamepass ultimate subscription
  • PC (specifications don’t matter) or Android
  • VPN (momentarily needed so free chrome extensions such as tunnel bear might be best suited)
  • A pretty decent Internet connection (the performance was best at 9 Mbps and also decent at 2.8-3.2 Mbps)

Now keep in mind this won’t run as well as on an actual console or PC as the input needs to travel as well as the actions replying to the inputs back and forth, but as far as gaming cloud experiences go this might be right below GeForce now which seem to be working pretty well.

Step-by-step process to run Xcloud in any country

This process has been tested by me and this just works pretty well. Here are the complete details and guide on how anyone can run Xbox Cloud Games with a relatively low internet bandwidth in countries where Xcloud is not available.

How to run Xcloud games on PC

In our experience Edge browser works the best in this scenario and we’ll recommend edge as it provides lower latency compared to chrome. These chromium-based browsers provide the best quality 720p-1080p but with lots of lags, but with the trick at the end this will work like a charm.

Start the browser and use a free extension VPN like Tunnel Bear to connect to a server, any country with Xbox support works. Open up Xbox official site and log in to your Xbox account, you’ll see text in the local language of the region you selected don’t freak out it’s just trying to sync your profile.

Cloud seems to work way better on Linux browsers and that’s what makes the difference. Don’t worry you don’t need to get Linux as swapping out the user agent string does the job.

To swap that out first open the browser and press F12 to open dev tools, and then open the browser command by pressing Ctrl + Shift + P and type in “Network conditions”. In the following menu choose “Show network conditions” and select enter.

In the next menu “Network condition tool” untick “User browser agent” and in the drop-down menu select custom browser agent. And copy-paste “Mozilla/5.0 (X11;Linux x86_64)AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/ 95.0.4638.54Safari/537.36”. As long as the dev tool is open this will stay working. Disconnect the VPN start your game and enjoy seamless Xcloud gaming.

How to run Xcloud games on Android

Xcloud on Android can be a bit underwhelming as it runs pretty low-res but if you’re willing to put up with that, the latency isn’t half as bad here. To make this work you just need to Install a reliable VPN (Tunnel Bear works here as well) and start the Xbox Game Pass app login to your account and turn off the VPN before you start playing and it’s all ready, you’re good to go with a 720p res and low latency gaming experience.

Hope this process helped you to run Xbox Cloud Games or Xcloud in any country. Let us know in the comments below!
