In July 2022, China Joy, China’s largest international game show, will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The platform structure of the show will be improved for ‘ChinaJoy 2022,’ which will be staged at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from July 29 to August 1. Shanghai Hanwei Xinheng Exhibition Co., Ltd, the organiser, has announced that ChinaJoy 2022 would be held concurrently with the first MetaCon Metaverse Ecological Expo this year.
In addition, the China International Digital Entertainment Industry Conference (CDEC) and China Game Developers Conference (CGDC), which will address the metacon metaverse ecosystem, will be hosted concurrently with ChinaJoy at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai, for four days from July 28 to July 31.

It was also revealed that the virtual avatars ‘Cici’ and Joy, which were released in 2019, will be upgraded. Chi-Chi and Joy will also greet guests at the exhibition site in the shape of a new digital human, as well as support and interact with Meta-Con and Meta-Joy online events.
Esports equipment displays and club brand promotions, esports product experiences, and other events will be hosted in the esports sector. Investment promotion for the ‘e-Smart Expo,’ an e-sports focused pavilion, is already well underway, with exhibitors being sought.
SF-themed exhibition space, figure model exhibition space (CJFM), and the ‘Luoshang Huafu Award,’ which supports traditional Chinese culture, will also be held at this ChinaJoy event, with exhibitions of current traditional game firms.
