PlatinumGames to hold an event on 10th Aniversary of Metal Gear Rising:Revengeance

A Metal Gear Solid 3 remake could also be coming.

There has been a rise in rumours surrounding the Metal Gear Series recently and the fans have been expecting a new Metal Gear game or a remaster/remake for quite some time now. The fans would be happy to know that PlatinumGames is going to celebrate 10 year anniversary of Metal Gear Rising Revengeace this month.

The Metal Gear spin-off will complete its 10 years since its release on 19th February 2023 and the event will be on 21 February.

MGR voice actor had earlier teased an announcement

The event is set to take place on February 21, 2023. Unfortunately, no information was provided about what the event will reveal or if fans should expect any explicit new gaming updates surrounding the release. Although, the tweet did mention the unveiling of an anniversary art piece to commemorate the anniversary.

A few weeks ago while replying to a fan, who enquired about a sequel, the game’s protagonist Raiden’s voice actor said “Stayed tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks”. This statement now seems to hint at a potential announcement for MGR’s sequel or even another game in the long-dormant Metal Gear franchise.

The rumours don’t end here, according to a recent tweet by Oops Leaks revealed that “Classic Metal Gear Solid games should be coming to Steam this year. Got multiple signs of that this will happen but have no clue which games and versions exactly it will be.”

If a Metal Gear game is announced it would be further confirmed that Konami is working on bringing back the classic franchises that have been dormant. Recently The Silent Hill 2 Remake was announced with reports that more Silent Hill games are being developed by various studios.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is an action-based hack-and-slash game which features Raiden as the main protagonist. The game was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013 by developer PlatinumGames and publisher Konami. It was also released on PC, a year later.
