Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as Weird Al in his biopic

The world belongs to the weird

Weird Al, the extremely popular artist whose claim to fame was parodying popular trending songs, is now getting his own biopic, ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story‘ with him being played by no other than Daniel Radcliffe, known best for his work in the Harry Potter movie series.

A rather overzealous biopic, classic Weird Al style

Although this is supposed to be a “biopic” the trailer does seem quite interesting and packed full of action as we go through his early life, the start of his career, affair with Madonna, alcoholism, wild appearances at concerts and more.

If that seems a little over the top, that is because it is, since Weird Al’s whole spiel has been poking fun at mainstream culture (in reality, Al has generally avoided alcoholism and had mutual friends with Madonna) so why shouldn’t this be too.

The trailer does look quite promising too and the movie probably would be worth a watch if you want a lighter hearted take on Al and are a fan who saw him growing up or got into his content later on.

For anyone who doesn’t know though, Weird Al is definitely worth looking up and his career is really hard to condense because of his personality and variety in work. Radcliffe does seem to fit quite well into the role based on what we have seen in the trailer. He’ll be acting in the movie alongside Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson and others.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story release date and platform

The movie is being written and produced by Weird Al so it’ll definitely have his originality and wacky presentation that he’s loved for. It’ll go straight to streaming on Roku on the 4th of November this year.
