Assassin’s Creed Mirage leak reveals protagonist, gameplay details, and more

Since the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla two years ago, fans have eagerly awaited a new Assassin’s Creed game. Finally, after a long time, Ubisoft confirmed a new game called Assassin’s Creed Infinity. However, a new game has taken over the internet after a few details of a new Assassin’s Creed game, titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage was leaked by YouTuber j0nathan. Here are all the details that we know about the game.
UPDATE: The next Assassins Creed Game is now officially confirmed by Ubisoft and all the leaks are true.
The leak posted by the YouTuber refers to a spinoff codenamed Rift, which was revealed earlier this year. Mirage was supposedly meant to be a DLC project for Valhalla, but Ubisoft decided to put more work into it and make it a standalone game.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage leaked gameplay and details
If the leaks are true, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will reportedly take place in Baghdad between 860 to 870 during the anarchy at Samarra, the capital city of the Abbasid Caliphate. It will also feature “multiple cities to explore, separated by desert and rivers like the Kingdom of AC1.” However, Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier confirmed and rejected a few details about the game.
The leaks suggest that the main character of this game will be Basim Ibn Shaq, a character introduced in 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players will play Basim in his youth as a thief until he becomes a Hidden One.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage expected to return to its roots
According to the leaks, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will return to its roots. The game is said to have “strong inspiration from the first Assassin’s Creed.” The title will reportedly remove several RPG elements, such as no dialogue choices, no gender option, and no level system. Alongside the leaks, there is also a rumor of the first game being part of Mirage’s season pass, which will also include DLC in Constantinople. However, Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier seemed skeptical about this topic.
The gameplay of Mirage would be slightly different than Valhalla, less raw, with new animations. Eagle Vision will be back, along with the ability to use the bird to survey the area. The main will use a string dagger to eliminate opponents. Visions of Loki will show how Loki manifested into Basim’s body and consumed him.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date
The release date of Assassin’s Creed Mirage was also leaked alongside these details. According to Rebs Gaming the game will be released in Spring 2023.
Ubisoft is supposed to share its plans regarding the Assassin’s Creed franchise at the Ubisoft Forward event, which will be held on September 10.
