Netflix previously announced that it is going to add a cheaper plan with ads. After much anticipation, Netflix has revealed the release date of the newest subscription tier of the famous OTT streaming platform. The new “Basic with Ads” tier will be released on November 3 at 9 am PT and will cost $6.99 a month. The new subscription plan will initially be available in the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain, and the UK.
Netflix Basic with Ads: subscription overview
Just like the Basic plan, the basic with ads plan will also be limited to 720p/HD. The only difference of this plan is that it will show 4-5minutes of ads every hour. The ads will be played before, between, and after the shows. Each ad is supposed to be 15- 30 seconds in length.
Unfortunately, a limited number of movies and TV shows won’t be available due to licensing restrictions in the Basic with Ads plan. However, Netflix assured us that they are already working on this issue. Users will also not have the ability to download shows on Netflix.

Netflix Basic with Ads subscription plan is being launched in 12 selective countries. Here is a list of all the countries:

There have been no words from Netflix, regarding the possibilities of the new plan extending to other regions. But viewers can very well hope that the new plan will be made available for everyone very soon worldwide.
