Valorant’s next agent 21 will be a Controller from India
Riot Games revealed their newest controller agent
In a recent State of Agent blog post, Riot Games teased a new Agent with some hints about the background of Valorant‘s 21st agent. Riot has revealed that the agent is almost ready to go out; however, no other information has been announced by the developers yet. Previously, the abilities of Valorant’s newest controller agent were reportedly leaked. Today we will talk about everything we know about the upcoming Valorant agent.
Agent 21 will be a Controller agent from India
In the State of Agent blog post, Riot’s senior character developer John “RiotMEMEMEMEME” Goscicki, announced the new controller agent is “almost ready to go out,” but he didn’t reveal much information about the agent.
However, In the blog post, an art piece was added that hints that the new agent will hail from India. The art shows a book opened with the Indian map pasted on the second page, with the famous Indian snacks Chai and Samosa beside it.
Interestingly, the artwork uploaded to the blog was titled ‘Samosachaat,’ another reference to a favorite Indian street food. The post ended with a Hindi message, “Jald hi milte hain.” which translates to “See you soon.” After all, these hints, it’s certain that the new Valorant agent will be of Indian origin.
John Goscicki has also announced that the latest Valorant agent will be a controller. He also mentioned that the Controllers are in a bit of drought, and it’s been a long time since the last controller Astra was released. However, that’s all that Riot’s senior character developer revealed; he didn’t talk about Agent 21’s abilities or anything.
However, we might have been hinted that the newest agent’s abilities will be water themed. A vast ocean was seen in the background of the artwork that Riot Games uploaded to Riot’s blog. John has also used terms like ‘swim in,’ ‘drought,’ ‘blue ocean,’ ‘soak,’ and ‘flood you,’ which Goscicki can reference all toward’s Agent 21’s water-themed abilities.
Valorant Agent 21 leaked abilities, and everything else we know
Previously, through intense mining, Miners found in an in-game mail that the newest agent’s name might be Varun Batra, another reference to his water-themed ability, as the Hindu god of the ocean is ‘Varuna.’ In another leak, Valorant data miner ValorLeaks revealed that the upcoming agent is codenamed ‘Mage,’ and his abilities were also leaked.
ValorLeaks also leaked agent 21’s abilities; he revealed that Agent 21 might have abilities similar to Astra; he can flash, slow, and heal. Here are the details about Agent 21’s leaked abilities.
- Bubble (E): EQUIP bubble and enter into a phased state to place down a bubble by pressing the ability key. Activate to create an impenetrable bubble. Bullets cannot pass through.
- Tartarus Pit (Q): EQUIP a Tartarus charger. FIRE to launch a shot that deals some damage and slows players within its zone.
- Vision Taker (C): EQUIP a distortion wall launcher. FIRE to create a small line of distortion. Enemies will get briefly blinded if they walk through.
- Golem (X): EQUIP the Golem doll. Fire to throw down. All teammates will get a regeneration buff, and enemies will get decay debuff.
However, nothing has been confirmed by Riot Games yet regarding Valorant’s newest agent’s abilities. Therefore, the fans might have to wait until the next Act for the release of the new agent in-game.
